🇫🇷 Un sacré choc
Je suis dans du gros temps mais mon kayak Valentine se comporte super bien.
Je me concentre beaucoup sur la manière dont je dirige mon kayak. Même si le vent est aussi fort qu’hier, la houle est plus forte.
Il m’est très difficile de manger et de boire à l'extérieur, mais bon grès mal grès j’arrive toujours à me débrouiller.
J'ai vu un oiseau mignon (nouvelle espèce) qui utilisait ses pattes pour rebondir de vague en vague. Incroyable.
La matinée n’a pas été une partie de plaisir. Il a plu pendant 3 heures par intermittence. Comme le vent vient de mon arrière, j’apprécie de pouvoir m’abriter un peu derrière ma cabine qui me protège des intempéries.
Ce soir je vais me laisser dériver sans ancre flottante. Hier, dans les mêmes conditions, une vague s’est écrasée sur mon kayak et l’a secoué très fort. J’ai été projeté contre une caisse et mon genou l’a cogné violemment.
Plus de peur que de mal, et après quelques soins et quelques heures je peux dire que mon genou va bien.
Cette nuit je vais m’arrimer avec des sangles pour éviter de reproduire un incident comme celui-là. La sécurité avant tout.

🇺🇸 Quite a shock
I'm in heavy weather but my Valentine kayak is behaving superbly.
I'm concentrating a lot on steering my kayak. Even though the wind is as strong as yesterday, the swell is bigger.
It's very difficult for me to eat and drink outside, but I always manage to get by.
I saw a cute bird (new species) using its legs to bounce from wave to wave. Incredible.
The morning was no picnic. It rained intermittently for 3 hours. As the wind comes from behind me, I appreciate being able to take shelter behind my cabin, which protects me from the elements.
Tonight I'm going to let myself drift without a floating anchor. Yesterday, in the same conditions, a wave crashed into my kayak and shook it hard. I was thrown against a crate and my knee hit it.
More fear than harm, and after some treatment and a few hours I can say that my knee is fine.
Tonight I'm going to strap myself down to avoid another incident like that. Safety first.
