🇫🇷 Quelques nouvelles de Cyril après ses 3 premiers jours de traversée
Jour 1 - 23 décembre 2024 :
Bon départ de La Restinga avec le plaisir d'avoir Gwenaël à mes côtés pour me saluer alors que je sortais du port !
14 à 18 noeuds de vent prévu, mais j'avais bien l'impression qu'il y avait plus que ça.
La première nuit a été très difficile, avec une mer croisée qui, malgré mon ancre flottante, rendait mon repos très compliqué. Par 2 fois des vagues ont déferlé par dessus ma cabine.
Jour 2 - 24 décembre 2024 :
Météo un peu plus calme, mais quand même plus forte que ce qui avait été prévu.
Je suis bien fatigué en fin de journée avec mal de mer et maux de tête. J'ai bien besoin d'une bonne nuit de sommeil pour rattraper tout ça.
Jour 3 - 25 décembre 2024 :
C'est Noël, j'ai passé une excellente nuit tandis que le vent est tombé. C'est parfait !!
J'ai quand même un truc à régler car l'amarre qui me relie à mon ancre flottante s'est emmêlée. Bon, comme la météo est bonne ce n'est pas une chose trop difficile à régler, mais il faudra quand même que je me mette à l'eau... nu... pour aller gérer ça, tout en étant bien sûr attaché au kayak en permanence !
Côté animaux j'ai pu voir quelques papillons de nuit (si loin des côtes c'était inattendu), mon premier poisson volant, 2 dauphins plutôt grands, 3 pétrels et 2 dorades coryphène.
La prochaine fois j'y réfléchirait à fois avant d'aller me baigner nu !

🇺🇸 Some news from Cyril after the first 3 days of the crossing
Day 1 - December 23, 2024:
A good start from La Restinga, with the pleasure of having Gwenaël by my side to greet me as I left the harbor!
14 to 18 knots of wind forecast, but it felt like more than that.
The first night was very difficult, with cross seas which, despite my floating anchor, made resting very difficult. Twice, waves broke over my cabin.
Day 2 - December 24, 2024 :
Weather a little calmer, but still stronger than forecast.
I was very tired at the end of the day, with seasickness and headaches. I need a good night's sleep to make up for it all.
Day 3 - December 25, 2024:
It's Christmas, I've had a good night's sleep and the wind has died down. It's perfect!
I've still got one thing to sort out, though: the mooring line that connects me to my floating anchor has become tangled. Well, as the weather's fine, it's not too difficult to sort out, but I'll still have to get out on the water... naked... to deal with it, while of course being permanently attached to the kayak!
As for the animals, I saw a few moths (so far from the coast, it was unexpected), my first flying fish, 2 rather large dolphins, 3 petrels and 2 Dorada.
Next time I'd think twice before going skinny-dipping!
