🇺🇸 - Rough day yesterday. Not smooth at all and I couldn't follow my router, Michel's target. Too much of an angle for the sea I was navigating, From 7 am to 10 am sea was all over the place. Like the sea was in conflict with itself. I had to attach my sea belt for the first time as waves were leaning the boat. At 10 am something shifted entirely. It was chaotic then something switched.
What a ride. Proud I finished the day strong- thought it would never end, but it did as it always does. Put the small sea anchor on for the night to maximize drift.
People are asking what I do when I get bored. I never get bored. Sometimes I look at the sea for 3 hours to determine the sea and wind patterns and figure out the right angles to move the boat to maximize my movements. I really enjoy the navigation of the sea. I'm starting to understand how the seas move and become part of the environment in a way you only can when you live fully there for awhile.
Weather update from Michel winds up to 18 again today. Argh ok I got this. Good mileage ahead. Then going down over 3 days

Je n'arrivais pas à suivre le cap que m'avais donné Michel mon routeur car l'angle n'était pas du tout bon par rapport à l'état de la mer.
De 7 h à 10 h, les vagues venaient de partout, comme si la mer était en conflit avec elle-même. J'ai dû attacher ma ceinture de sécurité "marine" pour la première fois car les vagues faisaient tanguer fortement le kayak.
À 10 heures, alors que tout était chaotique, quelque chose a changé d'un coup.
Quelle journée ! Je suis fier d'avoir réussi à passer au travers - en force ! Je pensais qu'elle ne finirait jamais !
J'ai installé la petite ancre flottante pour la nuit afin de maximiser la dérive.
Les gens me demandent ce que je fais quand je m'ennuie. En fait je ne m'ennuie jamais. Parfois, je regarde la mer pendant 3 heures pour anticiper les modèles de mer et de vent, et choisir les bons angles à prendre pour optimiser ma route. J'aime beaucoup la navigation en mer. Je commence à comprendre comment les mers évoluent et s'intègrent à l'environnement. Un truc que vous ne pouvez comprendre qu'après l'avoir vécu pleinement pendant un certain temps.
Mise à jour météo de Michel : le vent montera jusqu'à 18 noeuds encore aujourd'hui. Argh... Ok j'ai compris je vais encore bien avancer ! Puis descente progressive du vent sur 3 jours.
