🇺🇸 - Reaching halfway yesterday! I was very emotional when I received the news from Michel. When I first started this journey I asked Dave how do you eat an elephant and Dave said one bite at a time. So for the past 49 days I have been eating one bite at time. Not looking too far ahead or getting too caught in the future. Yesterday I stopped thought whoa I have eaten a lot but I still have a lot left to eat. Ha!

In ultra endurance sports it important to reframe this journey in a way that doesn't feel overwhelming, looking at each day as its own helps with this.

The goal of this trip has always been to paddle to Hawaii. Get to Hawaii. But somewhere along the way the goal has changed. It is now to enjoy the journey.

Enjoy each day. Look at the clouds, enjoy the water, take in every sunset and sunrise. Looking at the time that I still have ahead of me may seem like a lot, but over an entire lifetime its just a moment in time. I want to be sure that I am present for each moment of the rest of the trip.

Enjoy the journey. So that when I arrive at what was once my goal I have the memories of these days to carry with me.

After I received the news I pushed myself to just get on with the day. It was a tough and tiring day. I wore my foul gear, big swell and wind, but pushing me in the good direction. I felt I did good mileage. Another day of the journey completed.

Thank you to everyone for your messages of support and congratulations. I am so happy to share this journey with you all.
